Insurance Fraud by Injury
A kind of insurance fraud by foreigners in Thailand, such as for workers compensation payments, is by a fake or exaggerated injury. A private investigation into this kind of fraud typically utilizes surveillance to see whether or not the person really appears to suffer from an injury, or is injured to the extent which prevents them from working for their normal compensation.
Similarly, a person may claim to have a health issue, to make claims for insurance, or for a reason to not be working, or to avoid a court appearance. Having discreet observations can be a first step to trying to resolve the issue.
Surveillance can determine whether or not they are truly living at the address of record, and can provide evidence or an indication of whether or not the person is truly injured or unhealthy to the extent they claim. However, it should be done discreetly, as some attempt at a tricky interactive behavior may be suspicious and tip them off to hide or even stage behavior or further fake things.
We try to collect lots of video evidence during surveillance.
We approach these investigations step by step, such as first discreetly watching.
If there is evidence or an indication that there may be insurance fraud, then additional investigation may be warranted, or litigation.
